On the Mats: Practice Makes ?????
So, have you ever heard the saying, ‘Practice Makes ?????’ – Come and find out what practice really makes.
Hi guys, Nathan McDonald for another ‘On the Mats’ episode; this is going to be an awesome one…and ‘Practice Makes…’ what? We’ve all heard that saying: ‘Practice Makes Perfect’. Well, reality is, it doesn’t. Practice will never make perfect. Because if you’re doing the technique wrong, for instance – especially in martial arts, if you’re not punching correctly – then how does practice make perfect, because it’s not going to be a perfect punch?
And one of the best statements I’ve ever heard from one of our masters – Master John (thanks for that Master John) – is ‘Practice Makes Permanent’. And that’s a very very good saying, and I love it. If you’re in business and you’re constantly doing the same thing over and over again, permanently you’re going to keep doing that. For instance, if you’re no good at time management, you’re constantly running around; running around doing the same things week in, week out, and practicing bad time management habits – guess what? You’re going to have bad time management issues. You’re going to have those challenges.
So what are you practicing in your business and how are you making that permanent? Because what we want to do is we do want to make good habits permanent. We want to make, you know, your time permanent. We want to make good marketing choices permanent. We want to make your sales permanent. What are you doing to practice? How are you getting it and what are you going to do to make those things permanent?
And guys, one of the things that you want to make sure of is if it doesn’t work, being able to change easily to trying something else. So you’ve got to be really adept to changing business and be able to go and focus on those points, and go and practice the stuff that’s going to be permanent in your business.
So guys, that’s another ‘On the Mats’ episode for me; really looking forward to catching up with you shortly. My name is Nathan McDonald, I’m an Aussie, my passion is business, and my message is global. Have a great day guys!
